The following guidance assumes you are fairly new to big game saltwater fishing and are out fishing on a charter boat. This type of information is given to all guests aboard our game boats if they are not experienced anglers. Occasionally we have to remind experienced anglers as well !

The Billfish Foundation (TBF) has done a lot to promote billfish conservation and has been instrumental in shifting past catch-and-kill practises to Tag Release in most parts of the world. We fully support TBF and Tag release all billfish from our game boats, the only exceptions being a fish that is clearly a National or World record.

Inflatable fishing boats are great yacht tenders/camping boats that are light enough to be carried in a backpack. Some 8-foot inflatable fishing boats are good for two and gear, and are large enough to float in moderate whitewater rivers. They can also be used as a large yacht tender.

If you become a fly fishing fanatic, you will inevitably hook yourself one day. Of course, this has never happened to me, but my friends have done it repeatedly. Being a thoughtful and observant person, Ive seen how they go about unhooking themselves from a fly. Again, this is never happened to me. Ever. No, I wont take a lie detector test.

You can buy flies for fly fishing, but youll want to tie your own at some point. Undoubtedly, your first fly will be the Frankenstein Fly.
